Born and raised in Cancún, Mexico, she began her creative journey studying visual arts and design in Canada, followed by film training in New York, and later earned my MFA in Production Design from the American Film Institute Conservatory.
Now based in Los Angeles, Ramirez has served as production designer on three feature films, along with numerous short films, commercials, music videos, vertical shows and even a cooking show! Her work has screened at prestigious festivals including Telluride, SXSW Sydney, and in 2021 a project she art directed was nominated for the Academy Awards.
Ramirez is especially drawn to stories rooted in specific cultures and communities, where design becomes a vessel for identity and emotional nuance. She thrives on new challenges and is known for crafting visually expressive environments that are deeply tailored to character and story. Her style often embraces bold color palettes, rich textures, and strong visual contrast—while maintaining a grounded, naturalistic look when the narrative calls for it.
When not on set, Ramirez draws inspiration from her love of architecture, interior design, and contemporary art. She’s an avid open-water swimmer and rollerblading enthusiast, and is always on the lookout at thriftstores all over the world for unique brass and glass trinkets to add to her growing collection, as she loves shiny objects.
